Previously, Schilling was global head of prime brokerage services at Barclays Capital and also helped build Bear Stearns' prime brokerage offering.
Kurtis Kupiec, a Senior Partner at Shoreline, said in a statement, "Today's market environment continues to present asset managers and hedge funds with a variety of complex challenges as they seek to perform for their end investors. We believe that asset managers, particularly in this environment, will increasingly seek out boutique firms with expertise in providing prime brokerage and where prime brokerage is the core of the business. Fred understands this environment, the nuances of what each client demands, and the importance of delivering client service, which lies at the heart of what we do."
Schilling added, "The Shoreline franchise is focused on helping clients generate alpha and increase assets under management. That focus and capability is a direct response to client demand. It is the platform on which the firm will continue to expand its client base, because it has proven to be effective for over a decade."
